Course Outline

With an increasing number of companies choosing to market their businesses online, the need for good website designers is growing. So if you’re thinking of embarking on a career in this much in demand industry, the Pitman Training Website Design course is the ideal opportunity to learn the skills you need to get started.

The course will take you through each aspect of the design and build process step by step – ensuring your websites are both user friendly and interactive so visitors can easily navigate.

You’ll learn about layout, web safe colours and how to create a site plan, together with the production tools including Microsoft Expression Web, Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. What’s more you’ll learn about design and development technologies, including Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML), JavaScript, Java applets and Dynamic HTML.

The CIW Website Design course is a vendor neutral exam 1D0-520, so to pass it you won’t need to know how to use production tools like Flash or Dreamweaver, but you will need to understand the technologies they can produce. On completion of this course, you will receive a Pitman Training Course Completion certificate*.

* Please note that Vendor specific exams may need to be organised separately.

Through studying this course you’ll learn how to build user friendly, interactive sites that visitors can easily navigate, grasping important concepts about layout, colour, and site planning. You’ll also explore how to use Photoshop, Flash, and Expression Web, and work with HTML, XHTML, CSS, and DIV Tags.

This course also introduces JavaScript and Java and teaches you how to use Dreamweaver or Expression Web to build highly interactive web pages.
