The Pitman Training Accounting Technician Diploma covers everything you will need to have a successful career in Accounting including;
- Book-keeping
- Practical Payroll
- Sage 50 Accounts
- Sage Payroll
- Microsoft Excel
If your aim is to work within the accounting team in larger firms, you’ll be able to collate, check and analyse financial information efficiently on their behalf. If you choose to work in a smaller business, your diploma will give you the knowledge and confidence to run a busy accounts department. You may also have aspirations to provide your own accountancy service to local firms, in which case you can be certain this diploma will provide you with the knowledge you need.
On successful completion of this diploma, plus IAB practice papers, students will be eligible to take the IAB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.
Alternatively, students may opt to take the OCR Certificate in Accounting Level 2 or IAB Award in Computerised Book-keeping Level 2. Students who have successfully gained an IAB qualification would be eligible to commence further studies at AAT Intermediate level.

The Pitman Training Accounting Technician Diploma is made up of 8 Core Courses:
- Book-keeping Level 2 Module 1
- Book-keeping Level 2 Module 2
- Book-keeping Level 2 Module 3
- Practical Payroll
- Sage 50 Accounts
- Sage Payroll
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Excel Expert
You then also choose two elective courses from a list to suit your requirements.
The guideline learning time for the Pitman Training Accounting Technician Diploma is: –
- 200 hours flexi study or 7 weeks full-time*
*full-time is based on approx. 20-30 hours a week
Our Pitman Training Accounting Technician Diploma has courses which can be accessed online via our distance learning portal and also one course which you will need to study in one of our centres.
This means that you have the flexibility to study our Accounting Technician Diploma:
