Pitman Training’s Accounting Technician Plus Diploma with AAT Qualification is aimed at anyone wanting to develop their book-keeping or payroll skills for a role in finance. This course holds valuable skills for book-keepers, small business owners, accountants, payroll and finance administrators, and Treasurers.

This Diploma arms you with high level skills that will provide you with the Pitman Advantage. With the ‘AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping qualification’ and the ‘AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting qualification’* that you gain upon passing the course, you have a recognised level of knowledge that can prove to be very valuable in business.

Being up to speed on all the latest in computerised book-keeping and payroll you’ll become a valued assistant at larger firms, or you could run an accounts department at smaller firms, or you could, in fact, just go for it and provide your own accountancy service to local businesses – the opportunities are there for the taking.

Our Accounting Technician Plus with AAT Qualification Diploma has a set of core subjects, as follows:-

Book-keeping Level 2 (3 modules) – This includes the double entry system; VAT basics; creating sales invoices; general ledger management; handling petty cash; preparing a trial balance; bank and statement reconciliations; managing contra entries and bad debt; checking invoices for accuracy; accounting for payroll in the accounts; preparing statements of account; paying invoices; calculating depreciation; calculating profit or loss and preparing a profit and loss account and balance sheet as well as closing off the ledger accounts. 

Sage 50 Accounts – Convert your manual book-keeping skills to computerised accounts using the most popular software to see how you can be more productive and effective with your time.

Sage 50 Payroll and Payroll Level 2  – Learn computerised skills for payroll management, including statutory sick and maternity pay as well as RTI information to cover a Level 2 computerised payroll qualification. Learn manual payroll to an employable level and to the syllabus requirements for a Level 2 payroll qualification

Microsoft Excel – Learn spreadsheet skills to a good business standard, which will enable you to create spreadsheets, enter data, formulas and functions, create charts and more. 
OR
Microsoft Excel Expert – Advanced spreadsheet skills cover areas such as importing and exporting data, creating and using templates, linking workbooks, data management, using analysis tools and pivot tables.

You can then choose to support the above with an additional course,  for example, from one of the below, as part of your Diploma:-

From February 2014 you also be able to study Basic Costing and Working Effectively in Accounting and Finance which will equip you with everything you need to go on and gain the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
